Philosophy
The rationale for our existence as a company can be found in our philosophy regarding product formulation.
We meticulously hand select our ingredients and formulate all of our products so that they are truly Natural and Organic. How does the Redbud Philosophy differ from other Organic soap and body care companies? Redbud Remedies differs from other companies primarily for the fact that we never use synthetically derived ingredients in any of our products. There is currently an industry wide trend of formulating Organic products by combining non-organic ingredients with a limited amount of organic ingredients and labeling products as organic. A prime example of this currently exist in the soap industry where by companies use synthetically derived surfactants from natural sources such as coconut oil and market them as Natural and Organic. Both true Soap and Synthetic detergents are surfactants but differ greatly in how they are created. There are currently thousands of so-called Organic soaps on the market that are made with synthetic surfactants like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamide (DEA, MEA, MIPA), TEA Lauryl Sulfate, or secondary surfactants like Cocamidopropyl betaine. None of these surfactants are true soaps, they are harsh chemical detergents. Many consumers have very little or no knowledge of these synthetic surfactants and to them I say Buyer Beware!!
Here at Redbud Remedies we handcraft all of our soap in small batches using the highest quality Organic ingredients we can find. When it comes to our philosophy on soap formulation we are purists, we come from the old-school. Our production methods are rooted in old world French technique (Marseille), while our ingredients meet twenty-first century standards. We work with integrity and pride at Redbud Remedies, our strict product guidelines help us to maintain our goals of producing the most Organic products humanly possible. We think that it is important to communicate our strict product standards to you so that you better understand our philosophy at Redbud Remedies.
Things that you will find in our products:

- All of our products are 100% Biodegradable
- Our products contain natural surfactants created from Organic ingredients
- We use high quality essential oils in all of our products
- We use natural preservatives in all of our products
- We use food grade Certified Organic Ingredients
- All products are handcrafted in Oregon (No Automated machines here!!)
- No animal testing
- All wild crafted products are sustainably wild harvested
- We contribute part of our profits to organizations that protect Oregon forests and wildlife
Things you will not find in our products:
- No synthetic surfactants such as; (cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium lauryl sulfate, DEAs, MEAs, or TEAs)
- No petro-chemicals
- No synthetic preservatives
- No artificial colors, fillers or fragrances
