We have used therapeutic grade essential oils of Peppermint, Basil and Spearmint to create a unique soap that is uplifting and energizing. Peppermint (Mentha Piperata)
Peppermint is native to Europe, but the United States currently produces more Peppermint essential oil than any other country in the world. During the 1980s, growers in the state of Oregon produced over 50% of the Peppermint Oil in the United States. Although Oregon currently produces less than 15% of the Peppermint oil in the United States, this plant is still a defining part of agriculture in the Pacific Northwest. Peppermint oil is extremely aromatic, it helps stimulate and energize the body. Peppermint oil is known to promote mental clarity and aids in wakefulness, it is a great oil to use in a morning bath. Peppermint can be used to decongest the skin and it also has a mild antiseptic effect on the skin, which makes it a great skin tonic.
Basil (Ocymum Basilicum)
The Basil plant takes its name from the Greek word for king because it was so highly prized in Ancient Greece. Although this plant has naturalized in the Mediterranean and other parts of Europe, Basil is native to Asia. Basil is a stimulating and energizing oil and like Peppermint can help promote mental clarity and an alert state of mind. Basil can be used to tone the skin and can help to improve its appearance.
Spearmint (Mentha Spicata)
The Aroma of Spearmint closely matches that of Peppermint because both oils share the presence of Menthol. In terms of aroma, Spearmint contains a negligible amount of menthol compared to Peppermint and is therefore much milder and not nearly as bright. Spearmint does share most of the same chemical constituents of Peppermint and therefore provides a milder alternative to Peppermint. Spearmint oil provides an invigorating way to purify and detox the skin, it is a wonderful skin stimulating oil.
